Galle Face Beach also known as Galle Face Green.It attracts the people with beautiful sceneries.It is situated in the Indian Ocean.In the Galle face green there are many attractive places nearby.Cinnamon Garden hotel,Taj hotel,Galle Face hotel,Galadari hotel and Shangri La hotel also situated with colourful buildings.This brings an image which attract the local and the International people. It's also the world class urban park in Sri Lanka. It gives space for the children to enjoy there weekend.Ships sail in the ocean with international territory guarded by coast guard.Galle face green has a good environmental view. Horse races were held in the Galle Face Green in Sri Lanka in the early 1820s, during the time of the then British Governor Sir Edward Barnes.For this an area which was previously marshy land was filled with earth and leveled. The area became known as the Colpetty Race Course, was one and a half miles long and was used for horse races.After which horse racing moved to the Colombo Racecourse. Usually on weekends the Galle Face Green in Sri Lanka is filled with people and very busy. You can find  food vendors if you manage to visit the promenade during a holiday. There are two large hotels that border the strip of the promenade. The Kingsbury Hotel and at the other end, is the quaint Galle Face Hotel, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most popular hotels. It is an entire world on its own with a good dose of old world charm including old furniture, hand carved doors, balconies and high ceilings.

This architectural marvel from the colonial era was established in 1864 and it has since given residence to many great royalties such as Prince Philip and the Duke of Edinburgh whose first car is placed in the hotel. Even though Galle face green has a lengthy beach front, beach is smaller when compared to Mount Lavania or Wellawatta. Sea is not so calm on most days and not recommend for sea bath. With the fall of night, street food vendors open their stalls and carts for business. Famous Sri Lankan kotthu and prawn wade has high demand. Kids used to come this place in the evening for playing and fly kites.In the morning many people used come to Galle face for exercising and burn their extra fat.When compared to foreign beaches Galle face green has a prominent place.Galle Face Green attract the tourists to select there comfortable hotel to stay in.This gives Sri Lanka a prominent place to visit. Sri Lanka has won the hearts of the tourists with the Galle Face Beach.It showcase what Sri Lanka be proud of.Galle Face Beach has won many hearts of the kids in terms of leisure and Entertainment. Musical Shows and Christmas trees also can be seen in respective seasons.Galle Face Green is the current name used in Sri Lanka with beauty.Rather Galle Face Beach is wonderful.
